Murray Funeral Home can trace its roots to an "undertaking establishment" in downtown Beaver Dam that offered the services of casket making and care of the body. This business was located in the upstairs portion of the building that is currently McKinstry Furniture Store. In the 1930's, Randall McKinstry and his partner Charles Yauman relocated the funeral home business to the current location on the corner of East Maple Street and Lincoln Avenue in Beaver Dam. Several years later, Jack Murray joined the partnership and eventually purchased the business. As the business prospered, he was joined by his son John Murray. As retirement approached for Jack, John purchased the funeral home with the intention of expanding into neighboring communities. This dream was realized when John purchased the funeral home in Reeseville from Harold "Shorty" Kuehl and later when he purchased the funeral home in Horicon from George Welch. In 1995, John Murray retired and sold the business. Through a succession of owners, the employees remained constant and maintained the integrity and service that was founded many years ago by Jack Murray and his partners. In 2003, employees Jerry Hankes, Jim Bublitz and John Leiting purchased the business that includes the funeral homes in Beaver Dam, Horicon and Reeseville. Jim late sold his ownership to Jerry and John but is still affiliated with the funeral homes. We are committed to continuing the legacy of service, professionalism and dedication to the communities we serve that would make those previous owners and the communities proud. .If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us |
